Interview – NY Theater Review

Here’s my interview for the New York Theater Review about my Edith Piaf show at Joe’s Pub.
Yes I used to go by “Floanne” for my singing work!

Tatiana Collet-Apraxine: You’ve come quite a long way from the “farm girl”, as you say, to the multi-talented artist in NY you are today. What were some crucial steps that led you here?

Floanne: Yes it has been quite a fun ride so far. My dad has a farm but it didn’t keep me there, I was always very curious and moved out of the family house at 13 to study dance intensively. Then I finished high school early and moved here in New York at the age of 17. I was interested in studying everything, but the performing arts seemed the most challenging because it was unpredictable. I didn’t realize what endeavor I threw myself into at the time. It’s been baby steps: graduating in modern dance, getting my green card as an actress, quitting the day job. I’m still figuring out how to make it work, but it is certainly rewarding beyond what I had expected.
